Teams of British heavyweights, WBA Super / IBF / WBO champion Anthony Joshua (23-1-0, 22 KO) and prospect Joe Joyce (11-0-0, 10 KO), told Sky Sports that the fighters will help each other in preparation for the upcoming battles.
Joyce will face off against fellow puncher Daniel Dubois (14-0-0, 13 KO) in the national megafight at the end of autumn. Joshua will defend his titles in December against the Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev (28-0-0, 14 KO).
“They’ve met more than once over the years,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “Joe played for many years as an amateur. When AJ first started out, Joe was already considered one of the most experienced guys, and some of their sparring was fantastic.”
