Viewers believe that her heroine, who has three fingers on her hands, will negatively affect the perception of people with disabilities.

In the new film by Robert Zemeckis “Witches” the main character, played by Anne Hathaway, appeared with three-fingered hands, which turned out to be like a real anomaly – ectrodactyly.

The fact that the character of the actress is also negative caused the outrage of some viewers. Disability rights advocates are concerned that after this film, viewers may be less likely to treat people with this disability.

Ann recently spoke about this on her Instagram and apologized.

“I learned that many people with disabilities, especially children, have experienced pain due to the fact that the witch is depicted with three fingers. I do my best to be sensitive to the feelings of others, because not hurting others is a basic level of decency that we should all strive for. As someone who truly hates violence, I must apologize to you for the pain. I apologize. I didn’t realize it when I was introduced to my character’s appearance. If I had understood this immediately, I assure you, this would not have happened, ”the actress wrote.
